Cannabidivarin (also known as CBDV) is a non-toxic cannabinoid found in cannabis plants. It interacts with various parts of the neurohormonal system to regulate brain function, just like other cannabinoids. It has been shown to be effective in treating epilepsy.
CBDV, like many other cannabinoids has been shown to be effective in treating seizures, Chron’s disease, multiple sclerosis and even helping with HIV/AIDS symptoms. CBDV is still relatively new in research and many are still trying to find out its benefits.
It is believed to reduce nausea. Other reports suggest that it may be beneficial in the treatment of autism spectrum patients. It has been shown to be effective in neurodevelopmental disorders like Rett Syndrome in mice.
CBDV has been recommended as a method to improve muscle quality and reduce degeneration associated with Duchenne muscular disorder, which is a severe form of muscular dystrophy.
